Our Team

Dustin Young
Founder and CEO

Meet Dustin Young, native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Dustin's journey began with an Industrial Engineering degree from Iowa State University. Despite a work-related accident causing 15 broken bones and significant organ damage, Dustin persevered. In 2018, he embarked on real estate investing, acquiring his first single-family rental property. This evolved into reimagining a medical facility into a 25-apartment complex, showcasing his strategic prowess. Venturing into commercial real estate development, Dustin secured a three-story warehouse for mixed-use conversion, alongside a dynamic three-building office compound.

Now at the helm of GDL Capital, Dustin's vision unlocks opportunities for investors seeking solid returns with community impact. His engineering background simplifies intricate investment processes, and his blue-collar ethics underscore his commitment to treating investors with honesty and integrity.

Dustin and his high school sweetheart, Amanda, reside outside Milwaukee with their sons Sloan and Lincoln. Beyond business, Dustin is motivated by enabling Amanda's retirement and his family's explorations, as GDL Capital's remote structure paves the way for their dreams beyond Wisconsin's cold winters.

Jordon Matukonis
Financial Analyst

Coming to us from the Great State of Alaska, Jordon is a graduate from the University of Alaska Anchorage where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance with an emphasis in real estate. He is also currently pursuing his Master in Business Administration from the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona. Previously, he proudly served in the Marine Corps as a Recon Marine and then as a Financial Analyst II with the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation.

“A rising tide lifts all boats.” -JFK. Jordon believes that teamwork and the pursuit of a common goal is one of the best means to create long term financial stability through passive income. Jordon knows this firsthand as he co-owned and operated several residential properties throughout the years. At GDL Capital, Jordon leverages his skill set and previous experiences to locate properties and vet the portfolio for maximum value creation.

When not pursuing his passion in real estate, Jordon can be found getting lost in the mountains and the oceans, traveling, and spending as much quality time as possible with family and friends, especially his wife, son, and two dogs. Jordon’s goal is to live life to the fullest extent possible, while providing the best quality of life for his family.
